Pull Press Publishing LLC is an independent press based in Sheridan, Wyoming. The imprint publishes books by authors with direct experience in the subjects they cover, written in plain language and set in serious type.
The mark is a doorknob. The press is named for the side of the door the work comes through. If the writing on the other side of the door does not earn the pull, the book does not get printed.
The imprint sets its books in typefaces with documented lineage — EB Garamond after Claude Garamont's sixteenth-century roman, IM Fell English after John Fell's seventeenth-century cut. Drop capitals open chapters. Colophons credit the type and its origin. Old-style figures sit on the baseline the way they were drawn. Endnotes are keyed to the text by phrase, not by superscript number, so the argument reads without interruption. These are not aesthetic preferences. They are publishing practices that predate the industry that abandoned them.
